roll of paper towels, cut in half
2 cups water
2 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil
6 drops lavender essential oil
6 drops tea tree essential oil
Place towels in storage container. Add the oil and water mixture, turning until liquid is absorbed. Remove the cardboard roll, and pull wipes from the center.
Autumn Foot Scrub
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Epsom salt
1 cup high quality oil, such as fractionated coconut oil, olive, jojoba, or sunflower oil
ginger essential oil
clove essential oil
cinnamon essential oil
orange essential oil
Mix the sugar, Epsom salt, and oil until well-blended. Next, add the essential oils, alternating one drop at a time if you are using multiple scents. Make sure the essential oils are evenly blended, and then transfer the mixture to an airtight container for storage.

What is fractioned coconut oil? I have never heard of that. I do have regular coconut oil, will that work?
ReplyDeleteFractionated coconut oil is very light and non-greasy. The smaller fatty acid triglycerides are separated from the whole coconut oil with steam and pressure hydrolysis to make fractionated coconut oil. It's more stable and has a much longer shelf life than regular coconut oil. It's a liquid, as opposed to regular coconut oil, which is solid under 76 degrees. Because regular coconut oil is a solid, I don't think it would work as well in the baby wipes recipe. Regular coconut oil would probably work in the scrub recipes, but might not look as pretty as a liquid oil. Hope this helps!
DeleteThat foot scrub sounds divine! So divine that I think I'll have to gift it to myself first, lol.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with that, lol! I tried it out last night and it IS divine. It smells good enough to eat and it left my feet smooth and soft!

I used half-sized HandiWipes for the baby wipes with good results as they're softer than paper towels.
ReplyDeleteI need to make both of these! :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI make homemade baby wipes using washcloths instead of the paper towels. In the long run, it's even less expensive and better for the environment.

ReplyDeleteI can not find fractioned coconut oil where I live. Can I use something else instead for the home-made baby wipes?
ReplyDeleteTry jojoba oil. It's greasier than fractionated coconut oil but it has a long shelf life and it's good for sensitive skin.
